Assassin's Creed 5 Unity, Comet Release Date: November 2014 Touted for Ubisoft’s Next Adventure Series

Assassin's Creed: Unity, also known as "Assassin's Creed 5," is the next major game in the history-hopping adventure series from Ubisoft Entertainment. While Ubisoft has announced that it will release the game sometime during the winter of 2014, speculation is rife that the first of the two-part game ("Unity" and "Comet") is set for a Nov. 4 release.

The first game "Unity" will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One, perhaps with a PC release too, while the second game "Comet" will be an exclusive for Xbox 360 and PS3.

This was officially announced by the French multinational video game developer at the end of March through a sneak peak video, which said that the game will be set in the French Revolution sometime around 1789.

The initial "Unity" clip revealed by the company does not provide an in-depth look. It shows the main character looking at an execution from the heights of Notre Dame church in Paris during the French revolution.

It also shows waving tricolor flags, crowds and smoking chimneys, as well as a noticeable increase in graphical fidelity, but does not present any gameplay footage or other hints regarding the possible future direction.

On the other hand, it seems that "Comet" will be a game that will close the gap between "AC4" and "Unity." It is likely to feature a Knights Templar sailor frequently sailing around New York and the American East Coast. All this is based on an assortment of reports in the gaming media, but Ubisoft is yet to officially confirm any of these, including the likely return of Haytham Kenway.

Fans of the game can expect a variety of new gameplay mechanics, improved wall-running and parkour, in addition to original graphics.
