Colombia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation present Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, now playing in theaters. Loosely based on Judi and Ron Barrett's children's book of the same name, the film develops the beloved tale, explaining how the town of Chewandswallow and its wacky --but delicious-- weather came to exist.
This action-comedy follows the story of aspiring inventor Flint Lockwood as he pursues his dreams and discovers that trying to control nature has its consequences. Featuring the voices of Saturday Night Live's Bill Hader as Flint Lockwood and Anna Faris as perky weather girl, Sam Sparks, the movie boasts an A-list cast that includes SNL's Andy Samberg and Will Forte, Mr. T, Neil Patrick Harris, and Al Roker.
Fans of the book will appreciate the familiar images pulled straight from the book's illustrations and brought to life by the animators at Colombia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation, who pay homage to the book that many parents may remember from their own childhood.
The stunning 3-D graphics and clever wordplay makes this the perfect movie for those searching for a movie the entire family will enjoy. Though the movie is filled with action based humor and parody of disaster movies such as Twister and Armageddon, the dialogue will have parents laughing right along with their children. Lessons about believing in yourself, being yourself, and keeping your life in perspective encourage young viewers to remain humble even when they accomplish great things.
With its wholesome messages, hilarious cast, and enticing food, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is a delightful weekend treat-- just be sure to stop by the snack bar before taking your seats.
