Singer, songwriter & producer, Robert E. Person has a vocal style that reflects traditional gospel roots fused with rhythm & blues, classical and jazz influences. In December 2004, Robert released his self-produced debut CD "The Call". This beautifully arranged and orchestrated collection bridges the scope of Gospel music flowing effortlessly from the traditional to contemporary to smooth gospel/jazz all while expressing adoration and praise to God. This compilation features original compositions and arrangements of familiar hymns and gospel songs.

Born and raised in Washington, DC, Robert attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA and the University of the District of Columbia (UDC). While in college, his appreciation for music was cultivated. There, he studied Music with an emphasis on vocal performance. It was at UDC where Robert met and developed long-lasting musical relationships with all of the co-producers of "The Call".

Robert has performed throughout the Washington metropolitan area and the United States with some of the most outstanding musicians in sacred music. He has lent his voice to numerous recording projects. Currently under the direction of Maestro Kenneth Louis, Robert serves as a Cantor with the Music Ministry at Holy Comforter-Saint Cyprian Catholic Church in Washington, DC.

Expanding upon his artistic gifts, Robert answered the call to pursue his acting talent. He has performed in many musical theatre productions including "The Wiz", "Purlie", "Bubbling Brown Sugar", and "Dreamgirls". In December 2003, Robert was featured in a musical entitled "Christmas in Washington" starring Karen Clark Sheard of the legendary Clark Sisters. In September 2004, he performed in Langston Hughes' "Tambourines to Glory" directed by Kenny Leon, director of the Tony Award-winning Broadway hit "A Raisin In the Sun". In December 2004, Robert was featured in a musical produced by Howard University entitled "Wasn't That a Mighty Day: A Christmas Miracle" starring Alyson Williams.

"The Call" is Robert's praise offering of thanksgiving to God for all the benefits, blessings, mercies and gifts that he has received. "I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; with my mouth will I make known Thy faithfulness to all generations." Psalm 89:1
