Robert E. Person News, Independent Gospel Sensation Robert E. Person Follows Up 'The Call' With 'Next Level' Releasing On September 4, 2007
Robert E. Person, one of D.C.'s most polished and gifted independent gospel artists, released his debut project, "The Call" in 2004 to rave reviews. Now on the heels of that success, Person prepares to deliver another stunning release, "Next Level". A mixture of traditional gospel, contemporary gospel and smatterings of pop, jazz and urban music, the CD not only showcases a different musical side of Robert E. Person, but allows him to spread his wings as a songwriter. Fans of Person will be able to hear songs like "God Has A Plan", a breathtakingly-beautiful orchestral piece and "Come Sunday", a rendition of Duke Ellington's jazz masterpiece at his CD Pre-Release Concert at ChristianHangSuite's First Sundays on September 2, 2007 from 3:00 - 7:00PM at H20 on the Waterfront located at 800 Water Street, SW in Washington, D.C.

Person is already riding the wave of his performance on Friday, August, 10th at Psalms 117 Coffeehouse in Silver Spring Marylnad where he sung the project's new songs to a standing-room only crowd. He's been privileged to sing behind some of gospel music's most notable singers including Karen Clark Sheard, Kelly Price and J. Moss. After receiving a 2006 Just Plain Folks Music Awards Song Nomination in the Gospel Song category for his track, "You're Worthy", also from The Call and a review from D.C.'s Christian Newspaper, The Vine calling Robert's work "well-crafted" and "easily mistaken for a veteran effort", Person is prepared for the "next level" of his ministry.

"The feedback that I've been getting on this new project is that it's vocally more aggressive that the last project," says Person. "I'm coming out of my shell, feeling a little more at home in the studio. I was a little intimidated and timid on the last project, but I really wanted to take this project to the next level."

Choosing a favorite on this project will be a feat. Tracks like the church-sounding, "And He Blessed My Soul", the contemporary-flavored "Smile" and the highly-emotive "Surely" are all mesmerizing and uplifting cuts. Listeners will be tempted to hit the Christian club dance floor with the exciting rhythms behind "Clap Your Hands". With every song having "single" potential, tunes like the mellow-sounding "Take Me To The Water" and the inevitable crossover "If You Believe" make this one of the projects to look out for in 2007. "Next Level" releases on Tuesday, September 4, 2007.
