Verity recording artist and Christian music's premier Latin Gospel singer/songwriter, Joann Rosario, returns with Joyous Salvation, her third album and first project in two years. The acclaimed summer release, which debuted at #13 on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums chart earlier this year, is called "a cool drink of water at high noon during a heat wave," by the Associated Press.
Produced by Aaron Lindsey (Israel Houghton, Martha Munizzi), Fred Jerkins (Brandy, Kierra "KiKi" Sheard) and Chris Rodriguez (Salvador), highlights of Joyous Salvation include the upbeat album opener, "Restore To Me"; the reflective "Beautiful Son" and worshipful "Holy God," both co-written by Rosario and Rodriguez; the R&B infused "More Than Anything"; and the project's debut hit single, "Glory To You." Rosario co-wrote nine of the project's 10 selections, inspired by physical healing and spiritual renewal following a vocal chord injury that left her unable to speak or sing for an extended period.
"The writing process on Joyous Salvation was very special for me," Rosario says. "I know I didn't write these songs! They were written by the precious Holy Spirit and I heard them during times of prayer and seeking the Lord."
Recently featured on BET's "Lift Every Voice" and the Gospel Music Channel's "Hometown Gospel" series, Rosario has also been a guest on Radio One's syndicated "Yolanda Adams Morning Show." In addition to appearing this year at CeCe Winans' "Always Sisters" conference and Bishop Eddie Long's Re/Present 2007 youth conference, she recently performed in Germany and Spain and is slated for concerts in South America next month.
Rosario's 2005 sophomore release, Now More Than Ever…Worship, peaked at #4 on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums chart and followed her 2002 hit debut, More, More, More. A Chicago native of Puerto Rican descent, Rosario currently serves as National Music Director for Maranatha World Revival Ministries headquartered in Chicago. The affiliation of churches founded by her father, Apostle Nahum Rosario, currently has more than 400 churches under its jurisdiction.
Joyous Salvation released in July and is distributed by Provident-Integrity Distribution and Sony BMG Music Entertainment.
