The Myriad News, Fishfest 2007 to Rock Out Southern California
Third Day will be one of the headlining acts at this year's Fishfest, which will hit Irvine, Calif. on Friday.
The annual Fishfest Christian music festival is returning to the stage for its sixth year this Friday at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, Calif., and expects to draw thousands of fans from California and surrounding states.

Presented by Southern California’s largest Christian music station, 95.9 KFSH-FM The Fish, the festival will feature three concert stages that cater to every age group, a number of attractions, food concessions, and exhibits.

Organizers hope that attendants can feel God’s grace through the performances and be drawn closer to Him.

“We exist to bring glory and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ through the vehicle of music,” explained Tim Taber, president of Transparent Productions – the Christian promotions company that produces Fishfest, in a statement. The company produces about 60 concerts per year at a variety of venues with top Christian artists.

Fishfest is unique with each of its three stages catering to largely different crowds, from kids to adults.

The main stage will feature a number of today’s biggest Contemporary Christian artists. Performers include Third Day, MercyMe, Chris Tomlin & Francis Chan, Kutless, an upcoming unsigned band named as this year’s “Star Fish” winner, Aaron Shust, and Jessie Daniels, in respective order.

The Edge Stage has more of a focus towards teens and young adults and has brought together some of the biggest Christian rockers. Bands include Falling Up, Red, The Myriad, Needtobreathe, Deas Vail, and Drew Bray, in respective order.

Unlike many Christian festivals around the country, Fishfest also features a children’s platform, called the Veggie Tales Kids' Stage, that rounds out the three areas. Performing, in respective order, will be Nazareth, Jana Alayra, Rob Biagi, Jana Alayra, and Allison Kenyon.

Transparent Productions is also in the process of launching the first ever Uprising Festivals in 2007. The first two cities will be Portland, Ore., and Denver, Colo.

“We hope to bring Uprising Festival to a city near you,” explain promoters on the Fishfest website.
