In his recent journal entry on
HeadToChrist.com, Head clearly stated the reasons why he left Korn, and his feelings towards the band members, as well. He wishes to clarify the fact that there are
no hostile feelings towards his former band pals after leaving the band.
"
I feel like some people want me and my former band mates to not get along like it's some kind of battle between good and evil," he states in the journal entry.
Head claims that magazines "
get all twisted around" and "
the stuff that was said in some recent interviews wasn't said in the context that it was written."
"
My brothers in Korn were my family for over 10 years. I miss them and I'm sorry for anything that was said that may have hurt them. Any negativity you may read about, is negative gossip. No negative press can ever take away the love that I have for my brothers."
Also stated in the entry were Head's reasons for leaving the band, which highly involved his 5-year-old daughter. At home, Head caught his daughter singing along to inappropriate lyrics from the Korn CD. As a parent, Korn felt the strong urge to take the responsibility of a good father. He was tired of being a slave to the sinful natures of this world and "wanted to feel love again" in his heart. With the pure desire to become a righteous influence, and to show a greater example for his loving child, Head has decided to change the direction of his life and music, which now speaks of love and hope.
Widely known for his conversion to Christianity, Brian "Head" Welch is the co-founder and former guitarist of Korn, a popular secular metal band. Having parted ways with the band earlier in the year, Head is currently spending time working on his own record and involved in a project called "HEAD HOME," designed to 'help kids get off the streets.'
